SPECIAL EVENTS/Satsanga/Gita Class
Gita class - Saturday morning, September 4th at 10 AM. One of the Bhagavad Gita groups from Omaha is coming to the temple for their class and you are welcome to join us. They will be discussing chapter 3:20+ and also they will be experiencing hearing the Gita sung in Sanskrit - the language of Krishna in the words that he spoke. These classes last about an hour and a half. Please be on time. All are welcome.
Special Yagna and Satsanga - Saturday, Sept 25 at 5:30 pm (Atma Shanti Puja) This satsanga will be dedicated to help facilitate anyone through the grieving process due to the loss of a loved one. We will have an atma shanti puja (a puja dedicated to giving peace to the soul). We will start at 5:30 pm with a yagna (fire ceremony) mostly in English outside the temple so dress appropriately AND PLEASE COME ON TIME. We will be offering sticks and ghee to the fire along with the names of the loved ones who have crossed over. The energy is right at this time for letting go and letting God release any residue left because of any communication problem with a loved one who has passed away. As well as requesting that God grant peace to the soul of our departed ones and ourselves. The amount of time for this yagna will depend on the amount of people participating. Sunset is at 7:11. After the yagna which will be outside, we will go into the temple and Leela will chant the Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 sloka 19-30, Chapter 8, and 15 in Sanskrit. The translation of these slokas will be read in English. Participants can chant along or lay under the dome or just sit in meditation and soak up the vibrations. Proxy option: If you would really like to participate but the distance or a previous commitment is a problem, then you can email the name of your loved one, your relationship to them - along with your name and someone will offer a stick for you. example: Peace to the soul of David Patterson brother of Leela Bruner... email these to Leela by noon on Friday. As with everything, there is a minimum cost involved for the ghee, offering of rice and special herbs, flowers, heating of the temple, etc. .... so if you would like to be a sponsor that would be appreciated. $11 is appropriate to help share the costs.... but not required or necessary. All our satsangas are open to all friends and are without fees.
